Booking.com Customer Service (CS) department is looking for an Instructional Designer to join the CS Global Learning and Development Team. This role plays a pivotal role in enabling the business to deliver on strategic and operational objectives by crafting engaging learning activities and compelling course contents which supports capability development and unlocking the potential and talent of our employees.
You will be identifying target audience’s training needs and applying tested instructional design and learning theories, practice and methods. All the learning initiatives are structured to enable a learning culture, powered by the learner, where our people have access to the right learning opportunities at the right time in a medium that best suits them.
Ideally, you are a self-motivated, upbeat and hardworking L&D professional who is passionate about learning experiences for a customer service environment!
B. Responsible
- Facilitating learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner
- Using up-to-date learning trends and technologies, data to qualify decision-making and the full learning cycle
- Driving effective and successful learning initiatives to a global audience in an Agile and scalable manner.
- Working with subject matter authorities and identify target audience’s training needs
- Setting instructional end goals and build content that matches them
- Visualizing instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
- Conducting instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
- Applying tested instructional design theories, practice and methods
- Providing exercises and activities that improve the learning process
- Crafting supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
- Deciding on the criteria used to judge learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments
- Maintaining project documentation
- Developing the digital instructional design capability of Learning Specialists from Junior to Senior and continuously support their development to remain up to date with the end to end skills and knowledge required for effective digital instructional design.
B. Skilled
- Minimum 3 years of shown experience in instructional design and. Preferably in a fast paced commercial environment.
- Know-how about instructional technology (Articulate Storyline and Rise & Vyond)
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Strong lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge
- Proven knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
- Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
- Sophisticated stakeholder management and cross-departmental teamwork skills
- Ability to translate business needs into effective learning solutions
- Excellent prioritization, effective time management and decision making skills
- External research and analysis skills
- Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Premiere and After Effects) and ability to storyboard are helpful.
- Experience in Agile way of working is a plus.
