We are looking for an ESG specialist (Senior Associate) for our Project & Development Services (PDS) department in Stockholm, Sweden.

In Sweden, PDS so far has had its major focus on managing fit-out and relocation projects on behalf of office occupiers (tenants). Located in Stockholm, we have a large and very experienced team that delivers approx. 30-40 office relocation projects per year with the aim to always realize the best possible office solutions tailored to our client’s needs. As a natural next step, PDS Sweden will increase its focus on real estate development and construction management with the aim to be able to provide an end-to-end project delivery on the investor/landlord side.
Going forward, PDS Sweden wants to deepen its service offer towards landlords and investors. With start in June 2023, PDS Sweden will proactively offer Building Consultancy services with focus on Technical and Environmental Due Diligence as well as (technical) ESG related services on asset level, such as energy performance improvements, building certification, net zero carbon pathways and climate risk assessments.
Main responsibilities
Within the Project Management department (TEDD/ESG/GDD team), you will provide ESG and technical advisory services for and on behalf of property companies/funds, investors and public players. Projects can vary between small scale single properties to large portfolios throughout EMEA. We are looking for an ESG specialist who wants to become part of a new but strong Building Consultancy team:
The role will include managing a diverse range of ESG related projects which includes but is not limited to the following;
Strategic advisory services helping clients to determine which certification system is most appropriate for their needs and requirements
Certification of buildings using the following systems BREEAM, BREEAM-In-Use, Svanen, Miljöbyggnad, Miljöbyggnad-i-Drift, LEED, WELL plus additional certification systems under development (training to be undertaken related to each system, if needed).
Pre-analysis of properties against the above-mentioned certification systems. To advise clients on the current status of their properties and to determine improvement strategies that should be undertaken as part of planned investment/CAPEX in future. This could involve site visits or portfolio (desktop) assessments.
Project management of building certifications, pre-analysis assessments together with managing eventual energy improvement works (based upon identified recommendations). You will have responsibility for managing the project from start to completion and to ensure that project objectives regarding quality, time, and budget will be achieved.
Technical Due Diligence assessments alongside colleagues to assess building or technical installations, dataroom review of relevant documentation together with DD reporting and cost estimates etc. You will assist senior DD personnel in strategic advisory services to help close property deals. You will also work closely with other JLL teams to assist in closing deals for clients (Capital Markets, Valuation, Leasing etc).
Wider ESG assessments including but not limited to environmental desktop assessment (EDD), climate risk assessments using publicly available information (flooding/rain/heat etc), social DD assessments (lighting, security, social areas etc), governance DD assessments (outline review of policy documentation etc).
Advisory services related to LCAs, climate impact assessments, building materials, EU Taxonomy, CSRD.
Active management of client requirements and client care – this will include building new relationships with clients via own network or active marketing to find new clients. Via client contacts, you will manage tenders, contract writing and management of projects from start to finish.
Other project management activities could include energy improvement projects, smaller building renovation and improvement projects working alongside experienced PM colleagues.
Teamworking and active collaboration within JLL;
Due to the expanding field of ESG services, you will work alongside colleagues throughout EMEA to discuss projects, opportunities, and market changes to ensure that JLL can be a market leader within ESG fields moving forward. Some travel may be required to meet colleagues, clients and attend seminars in connection to ESG services.
Collaborate with external partners, such as consultants, architects, and municipalities, to conduct thorough analyses and investigations.
Collaborate with colleagues to identify and secure new project opportunities, effectively presenting and selling the company's services.
Contribute to the continuous development of internal structures and processes, streamlining project workflows and enhancing overall efficiency.
You will systematically work on several projects at the same time, under a senior project manager’ supervision and in collaboration with several team members – also from other business lines. For the benefit of the team, you will also contribute to optimizing our processes, tools and templates.
Experience and knowledge
Extensive experience and knowledge gained from at least 5 years in a similar role (within sustainability or ESG advisory roles)
Deep knowledge of sustainability and ESG related matters staying updated with industry trends and advancements.
Exhibit fluent proficiency in spoken and written English and Swedish, enabling effective communication in both internal and external contexts.
You have successfully completed a (bachelor or master) degree in construction, engineering, architecture, sustainability or other real estate related studies.
Very good knowledge of MS Office systems, BRE/SGBC/LEED online certification systems. Beneficial if you have experience of energy modelling calculation tools and experience of the energy declaration submission systems.
