01. To carry out vessel vetting schemes (risk management, safety and quality
assurance in determining the suitability of vessels) as adopted by Global BASF –
GBP/TD Vetting Department for each incoming and outgoing oil,
chemical and gas parcel tankers in BASF ,
  • Chartered by BASF or associated group of companies, or
  • Calling at BASF operated terminals, or
  • Carrying cargo in which BASF has an interest.

02. To monitor vessel operator compliance of International Maritime Transportation
safety regulation and BASF requirements by directly engaging with their technical
operator or educating via a seminar.

03. To carry out Marine KPI meeting with COA owners in identifying area of concern
and areas for improvement and effort being taken in improving safety on board.

04. To carry out regular vessel visits at any terminal with BASF interest
in verifying against ship operators’ corrective action to an observation, monitoring
the safe conduct of vessel crews during cargo operation.

05. To monitor all changes to IMO rules & regulations, eg. SOLAS, Marpol, STCW,
ISM Code, ISPS etc to not only on vessel new requirements affecting vetting but
as well as chemical cargo rule changes as per International Bulk Chemical or IBC
or IGC code affecting parcel tanker shipments.

06. To provide consultation for supply chain units and RBU (Regional Business Unit)
including procurement units in the selection process of a Marine LSP for Contract
of Affreightment (COA).

07. To participate in the technical review of BASF vetting scheme with other BASF
Marine subject matter expert for required new queries, interpretations,
clarifications and proposed new amendments.

08. To represent BASF for an accident investigation involving a vessel that
have BASF interest. Prepare summary for wider marine industry sharing.

09. To provide training on BASF Vetting Scheme based on CDI-Marine (Chemical Distribution Institute) and OCIMF (Oil Companies International Marine Forum) for Marine waterway transportation to colleagues in
China, In addition, various other shipping topic as of interest during any special workshops.

10. Able to conduct ship independently or with minimum supervision based on CDI or OCIMF SIRE template in supporting all business units in China.

1.It is important to possess a high level of proficiency in English & Mandarin (Chinese) language, encompassing the ability to read and write effectively, as well as to speak fluently.
2.Hold a Master Mariner Class 1 Ocean Going Certificate,
3.At least 5 years of combined experience as a Senior Officer on board Oil, Chemical & Gas Tankers.
4.Excellent knowledge of International Maritime Regulations, industry standards and best practices.
5.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex issues related to ship operations and compliance.
6.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders.
7.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
8.Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as required.
9.Have the confidence to through the examination of CDI, SIRE and to obtain the authorized within 2 years since on board.
10.University degree or above
