Commercialization Senior Manager [Egypt]


 
Overview:

The overarching role of the Innovation & Commercialization team is to enable PepsiCo to accelerate growth by rapid development and flawless execution of ‘Fewer, Bigger, Better, Faster’ innovation.

This is an Innovation & Commercialization leadership role for the Egypt Foods BU which will be key to enable the business’ growth agenda and drive innovation capability. The role is accountable for delivering the total Egypt Foods Innovation & commercialization agenda.

Key responsibilities will include building the longer-term BU Hopper/Pipeline, leading the cross-functional development of the Commercial Calendar, driving winning execution of the calendar, delivering best-in-class innovation project management expertise, owning BU innovation governance & decision-making forums and people leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Building the longer-term BU Hopper/Pipeline by understanding the macro environment, consumer trends and BU strategic plan and by considering the end-to-end unlocks needed to overcome operational constraints. Lead the 3 Lens thinking to prioritize growth opportunities and positive choices, driving focus on scalable platforms and proven Lift & Scale winners.
  • Leading the cross-functional development of the Commercial Calendar to deliver against BU growth and profitability targets, assessing the ‘need’ for innovation as part of the BU growth algorithm vs other commercial projects & levers, and determining sufficiency, affordability and executability.
  • Driving winning execution of the calendar. Assessing calendar readiness, highlighting risks, mitigations and trade offs and engaging with Sales to ensure the appropriate focus against each project. Optimizing execution plans to minimize the overall cost of change and complexity and drives focus on stickability of prior year launches.
  • Lead integration of the Sector Strategic Growth Platforms within the BU. Specifically, own the commercialization of the 3 key priority AMESA Growth Platforms for the Foods Category, leading from opportunity identification in the BU, through the strategic roadmap development over Horizons 2-3 ensuring BU relevance, to driving in-market scale-up & launch.
  • Delivering best-in-class project management expertise. Managing the scope, milestone & critical path analysis, risks, stakeholder engagement and project budget & P&L. Bring together all elements across Marketing, Sales, R&D, Supply Chain & Finance to deliver projects to agreed scope, on budget, on time. Rapidly identify & course correct risks & opportunities both pre & post launch to maximize scale & success of the project.
  • Own BU Innovation governance and the Stage Gate decision making forum to ensure that all projects are cross-functionally aligned and appropriate trade-offs are made between initiatives, brands and categories. Lead regular performance reviews and ensure learnings are built into future projects and calendars.
  • People leadership - Responsible for building the functional capability and leadership skills of the EGY Foods Innovation & Commercialization manager.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commercial, Engineering, Financial or related disciplines
  • 12+ years’ experience in relevant functions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the E2E innovation process, from idea to launch
  • Robust understanding of P&L fundamentals and knowledge of Supply Chain and GTM capabilities.
  • Strong analytical thinking to comprehend potential challenges, and propose feasible solutions.
  • Results-oriented with a high degree of personal initiative and leadership – can operate well within a low resource, fast-paced cross-functional environment.
  • Very high level of business acumen - must be commercially & organizationally savvy and financially astute.
  • Exceptional team leader with strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to influence at all levels and comfortable managing conflict.
  • Proven commercial project leadership/management skills, ability to manage complex functional interdependencies in project timelines.
  • Strong process thinker committed to driving process efficiency, strength in data analysis and interpretation to develop business recommendations.
